Main Findings

Morgan County and Martinsville have higher than expected amounts of multiple different types of cancer that are related to PCE exposure, including kidney and renal pelvis cancers, leukemia, and myeloma.

The Indiana Cancer Registry concluded that there is not a cancer cluster in Martinsville, IN at this point in time, according to the standard definition of a cancer cluster from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Indiana Cancer Registry's follow-up

The Cancer Registry will update the TCE, PCE, and vinyl chloride cancer analysis when newer data becomes available.
Next Steps

We are conducting a follow-up cancer study in Martinsville with the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center.

We will recruit a limited number of participants in this study.
